State #6 - Delaware

Today was the inaugural running of the USATF-certified C&D Canal Half Marathon.  Overall, it was a lovely run: very scenic and a nice and mostly flat, paved course. However there were a few issues that the organizers will have to look at next year.  The race was hard to find - because the google directions brought me to the opposite side of the canal.  Ended up just showing up in time for the race.   Which would have been fine but I need to use the bathroom before the race started - and low and behold - the bathroom line was a mile long (only two bathroom for everyone).   I ended up starting the race 18 minutes after the start - which meant I was passing people the whole race.

Hopefully the organizers work these issue out - and then the race will be golden!

State #4 - Conneticut

Better then expected results from this weekend's half marathon!   It was fairly hot - but I only ran at 90% power (saving energy for Brooklyn).  However since I ran for fun it made the race very enjoyable.

Old Port Half-Marathon Results (3rd State)
Good results from this weekend's half marathon!   It was very hot and the last 2 miles were brutal.  Saw a number of runners in need of medical attention.

State #2 - New Jersey

Asbury Park Half Marathon 1 Hour, and 56 Minutes* (2nd State)

Very suprising results from this weekend's half marathon!   Been seeking to beat 2 hours for years - and this was the race which I was (by the grace of God) able to acheive this challenge.

Asbury Park Half Marathon
Place: 320
Bib: 717
Name: Brian Hanley
Chip Time:  1:56:24:.1 (personal record)
Pace: 8:54
Division: Male M50-54  186/19
Weight:  194 lbs

I was not really ready for this race.   I've been running fast enough - but only was able to get up to 7 miles in training.   I believe family support and my weight loss - were the reasons for my success.
